This is a car for the elderly and for people who only care about getting from point A to point B, not the driving experience. You saying the S-Class are for retirees and the elderly makes no sense, it’s the best “All around” car in it’s class and frankly, it’s more fun to drive, and it’s the most respected sedan in the world. the complaints come from people who don’t like to use computers. Alot of S-class drivers are RETIREES and ELEDERLY asides from the taxi/limo commissions.
Old people can barely send EMAIL, much less navigate through GUI’s.
If there is one thing wrong with the COMMAND its that you have to use the computer just to change the radio station.
BMW’s i-Drive was terrible.
Audi’s MMI copied i-drive but made it easy to use.
Lexus DOESN’T HAVE an idrive AT ALL.

My S550 hasn’t given me a single problem. Its an 07′ with 22,000 miles. I bought it brand new.
the LEXUS lane avoidance computer only works with properly drawn LINES ON THE ROAD. Please don’t try to bullshit me and tell me it works off road or on unpainted roads because I know it doesn’t.

The COMMAND system is VERY easy to use.
My car has full adaptive cruise control with driver dynamic multicontour front seats. Lexux DOESN’T OFFER THAT.

Does your car have Emergency Steering Assist which reduces the steering gear ratio and prompts the suspension to adopt stiffer settings?Anyway is your car voice activated and if so does it work very well? How hard is it to use that I-drive because aren’t you better off with just a touchscreen?

OK, but you did not answer my question about the maintenance/reliability (since that’s why Lexus is #1) of your S550. If you can, tell me how it compares to the LS460. Does your car have to fuel injectors where one squirts directly into the combustion chamber under high pressure, and the other that feeds fuel into the port just above the intake valves because it gets better gas mileage? Does your car have a camera that if you’re distracted, it applies the brakes gently?

That’s bullshit on two counts.
#1 the @550 has far more interior space than the LS460. Therefore it is not overpriced.
#2 The Mercedes has FAR more technology than the Lexus. The automatic park system doesn’t really work. The LS460, unlike my S550 DOES NOT HAVE: massage chairs, infra red night vision, an in-dash LCD screen, or an i-drive that controls the seats.
The Lexus is a cheap imitation of the 750li.

I’ve been inside the LS460. Trust me. This is a nice gimmick but the S-class is 10 times better. I own an S550 which I chose AFTER testing this car, and the BMW 750
The problem is that you still gotta be short to get the most outta the recliner. The regular model without recliner gives you lots of leg space when the front seat is moved up.
