I am considering purchasing either the RX or GX Suv and wanted to know what the costs of maintaining one would be. I have an Infiniti and am not pleased with the routine maintenance costs. Anyone have any ideas? Thanks.

An auto repair company (or most that i know or have worked at) are NOT going too think you can afford more because of your car type and charge you more. That is absolutely absurd. I will tell you though that not all dealerships like Lexus or Mercedes or BMW charge an CRAZY amount of money for there parts. Even to independant auto repair companies like mine. And it really comes down to you get what you pay for. If you want OE parts then you have to pay the price. You could always go after market but for more expensive cars like that aftermarket parts can cause you more problems

they are good cars and they will run a LONG time. But just remember if you car is more expensive that means your oil filters are more expensive and you will most likely use synthetic oil which is more expensive and most recommend premium gas which we all know gas is just going up and up.

so i would be 100% sure that in the case that something needs to be replaced like shocks or waterpumps or radiators and such that you will be able to afford high prices in those areas.

And if you decide to go used… ALWAYS have the car checked out before you purchase its very important to do that before you buy because it can save you alot of heartbreak in the end. Just cuz a car SEEMS to be running right doesnt mean it is and if you take the car to an auto repair shop or dealership you can trust they may be able to tell you in the future what repairs will need to be made because sometimes you can tell if in the near future something will need to be replaced.

I am considering an older model luxury automobile. Which make of car has the most affordable maintenance; Audi, Lexus, or Acura? Which is most reliable?

just on regular maintenance ,there’s really not much difference in any of them,oil changes and things like this are about the same,tires cost about the same,so really your not going to be out any more on either of those,all of those are good cars too,and if you maintain them well they will hold up well,the Lexus i have to say is the most reliable right now,and the most luxurious also.if it were me id choose a Lexus any day over any of the other ones,,good luck.

I need help deciding on what to chose. Same price both 4×4 all the same features except the acura has navigation and the lexus does not. The acura has 107,000 and the lexus 87,000. I like them both looking for the reliability factor. I know lexus and toyota are very good because I have one 190,000 only car I ever owned 7 yrs now no problem but acura makes me a lil nervous. But I dont know so yall help me chose pls Also I am pregnant so this is a serious decision for me also since Im a one car kinda girl Thanks!!!

If I were you, I would stay away from the MDX. Both cars don’t have any warranty. But like you said, Lexus = Toyota, and they have the least problems. However, the MDX can fit 7 passengers and Lexus can only carry 5. The acura also has too many miles on it. I am not sure if the 01 MDX offered navigation, but I could be wrong. The 2001 Acura MDX use a 5 speed automatic transmission which suffered a significant numbers of transmission problems.

Before purchasing, make sure you check car history and take it to your mechanic and let him have a look.

I would go with the Lexus RX 300.

actually i have recently bought lexus ls 430 model 2003, the car is imported from USA,, i live in UAE, that’s why the navigation system is not working,, i should upload UAE maps,, does any body knows how can i upload maps that the navigaion system will work ? i want to avoid going to dealer cause i don’t want to pay more money …

The LS430 Nav. is DVD based and the system is in the trunk, under the floor. When you raise the rear floor, the unit is on the right hand side. You can’t miss it. You open the unit, remove the DVD that’s in there, and put in your new DVD. The system will auto read and run.

As for which DVD to get, I’m not positive but for 2003, I believe it was still generation 3. It did not go to generation 4 until 2004 model year. So, you’ll need to purchase online, perhaps through local Ebay, a Generation 3 DVD for UAE region. Here in U.S., any current (version 8.1) DVD will cost $300, while anything older runs in $99-150 range.

Why are some used 2007 cars from Lexus not certified preowned and some are? If they are not certified preowned does that mean they not come with any warranty?

What is the difference on a Certified Pre Owned vehicle from an Used Car Backed by Limited Factory Warranty? None !

The words Used Cars feels like wore out, out date, abused, used, craped out, etc… An used car is any car that just drives off the lot after a purchase, does not matter if is 2 miles or 2 feet, is an used car. So dealers, takes the ones that are in a fairly good shape and they came with this new Marketing Words so its does not feels like an Used car so people can buy them. If is all wore out it goes to the Used car lot with the Polyester Suiters with big smiles…

Any sales person knows this. Is the way to make it more palatable for the consumer to eat it.

I used to go with my dad while he worked for an Importer’s Company. We sat during marketing presentations an see the market analysis. What was the target crowd and how to apply certain buzz words along with prices. People eat that stuff if is labeled right and gives them the feel that they walked out with a steal. The majority of the consumers are pretty gullible…

I see some Lexus cars out on the road have those bright white license plate lamps. I wonder what model of car could that be and what is the part number of that license plate lamps. I want to wire that into my Chevy Impala.

Use LED license plate bulbs. You are better off buying 194/168 size LEDs from V-LEDS.com because the Lexus one’s will cost you a pretty penny.

Newer Lexus cars have license plate bulbs that have HID like lighting to them. Were can we buy bulbs like these.I did from Ebay and they say white but once installed they are more of a blue/purple type of white.

Hi, I wanted to get your opinion on this. The brand new lexus I bought 4 months ago stalled 4 times yesterday while I was driving on the freeway. The "check hybrid system" & "maintenance required soon" signals came on & stayed on until I took it to the service dept (at same dealership I bought the lexus at) & left the car there. they gave us a loaner.
well they called today fr service dept & basically said that the hybrid battery system has failed due to wiring problems & they have to do a major service where they will change the entire battery system & it will take a week to do.
My question: is this something that has happened before to an almost brand new car? we bought this car 4 months ago & I’m feeling very uneasy about this. Would it be out of the question to ask them to replace our car with a brand new one? What is your advice on this? I’m feeling a bit angry about it (solely because this car is supposed to be brand new) & I’m note sure if I’m justified for feeling this way.

first you need to find out what you LEMON law
consist of in your state..
then you also need to check your paperwork about your warranty..and read id well.
third after doing the above..talk to you dealer..and if you do not get the answers you want..ask to talk to someone higher up like the manager or regional manager..if they give you trouble..my next step would be to talk to an attorney..and soon.
but lets hope it does not come to this..and they take care of you..
lastly write every thing down, and ask for all paperwork ..for work done on the car..sometimes the dealer does not give paperwork for certain type of work..like maybe what they are doing to your car now..but ask for it..if they say no..pull out your not book and write down time, place and ask the person to please spell his or her name..this always gets things going..
the notes you take may be needed in court !

Vehicles depreciate so much during life of vehicle Remember also that the 439 probably doesn’t include tax which will be charged on your payment each month Leases allow you to have more car for less cost but with mileage limitations attached. Also at the end you walk away from the vehicle and have nothing to show for money spent but also nothing to sell or trade-in It’s really up to you although some say leasing is great if you like to trade vehicles every 2-3 years Good Luck
