How good are Lexus when it comes to maintenance are they really expensive to maintain?

by Reed on January 22, 2010

I am thinking about buyin an 2007 Is 250 but would like to own the car for at least 10 years. My other choice is the cheaper Acura RSX
Average cost for serviceing… tuneups, oil change, new tires? Are there other things I should know about?

I have an 07 IS 250, and the Lexus servicing is expensive but no more than Acura.
Other than the routine maintenance they never ever go wrong. I can’t say enough on how good this car is.
Drive both, and you’ll see the Lexus is a much better car.

A friend of mine has the older is300, and has put 287,000 miles on it with nothing going wrong.

Which maintenance is most affordable? Audi, Lexus, Acura?

by Reed on January 22, 2010

I am considering an older model luxury automobile. Which make of car has the most affordable maintenance; Audi, Lexus, or Acura? Which is most reliable?

just on regular maintenance ,there’s really not much difference in any of them, oil changes and things like this are about the same, tires cost about the same,so really your not going to be out any more on either of those, all of those are good cars too,and if you maintain them well they will hold up well, the Lexus i have to say is the most reliable right now,and the most luxurious also.if it were me id choose a Lexus any day over any of the other ones,,good luck.

Repair a tire on a Lexus ls 430?

by Reed on January 6, 2010

I have a Lexus 2005 Ls 430 with tire sensors that tell you when your tires are getting low. I have a slow leak in one of them. Do I have to take it to the Lexus dealer to repair or can I go to any tire repair to fix the slow leak.

You can take your Toyota anywhere. They will just charge you more due to the big L on the car.

Which Is Better Rear wheel Drive Or Front Wheel Drive?

by Reed on January 3, 2010

Which is better RWD or FWD, i know that FWD is better in winter time, but which is better in the corners and which is better in racing , i Want to buy 2002 Lexus gs300, it has a rwd , my friends say rwds are dangerous .. what do you Think?
THANKS ALOT.

RWD gives you more balanced handling. Anyone who’s ever driven a FWD on ice knows that they want to go straight on an icy corner if your wheels start spinning. Same happens on dry roads is you can manage to overpower the tires. A spinning tire is out of control, I rather it not be the steering tires that let go. Even in winter I’d still rather have a RWD.

Look at every performance car out there. BMW, Porsche, Ferrari, Corvette. They are all RWD cars that would eat a FWD for lunch. The reasons we have FWD cars are that they are cheaper to make and give more room inside. All the other benefits were just marketing BS so the makers could sell more cheap crap.

And I agree, your friends are idiots. They sound like they don’t have much experience driving and really shouldn’t be talking about things they don’t know..
